Sale and Health Contract
PURCHASE:  The buyer agrees to purchase from Cornerstone Labradors (sellers) in the amount of $1000 (one thousand dollars) non-refundable, a male or female of a labrador breed.  A deposit of $300 was made previously to hold a puppy so-named ___________________.  The remaining $700 was paid when puppy was picked up or shipped.  The buyer will provide a registered name for his/her puppy at time of pick-up, and seller will complete registration paperwork to be mailed to the American Kennel Club.  ALL puppies and adults are as accurately described as possible and are guaranteed to be healthy and "as we have represented" at the time of the sale.  Any known faults will be discussed with the buyer before a puppy is purchased.  If, for any reason, the owner cannot keep the puppy/dog, the puppy/dog must be returned to Cornerstone Labradors at the owner's expense.  Our puppies/dogs have a lifetime home here at Cornerstone Labradors.  Our puppies are NOT SOLD FOR RESALE.
DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT:  When reserving unborn puppies, all deposits are placed on a list that is first-come-first-served by date deposit was received, and depositors are given a reserved right to transfer their deposit to another current or future Cornerstone Labrador litter in the event the desired puppy is not born or is not available.  This transfer still follows the "date deposit received" guidelines.  $200 of the $300 deposit is refundable if you change your mind prior to reserving a puppy. Full and final payment is required on puppies that are seven weeks and older.  If final payment has not been made by the time the puppy is eight weeks old the deposit will be lost.  Cornerstone Labradors does not refund money for purchased puppies that are not picked up or taken by their new owners.  Once a puppy or dog is purchased it is the new owner’s responsibility to pick it up, provide a clean and healthy environment, and give their new pet love and attention.  Again, if a puppy or adult from Cornerstone Labradors cannot be cared for in this manor they will always have a home with us and must be returned at the owner's expense.  We do not give refunds for buyer's remorse.  It is a new owner’s responsibility to make sure they are ready for a new pet and educated in making their decision to welcome a new family member into their home.  If you change your mind once you have reserved a puppy and we have moved on to the next person on the Choice list then your deposit is forfeited and is no longer refundable.
BOARDING FEE:  If shipping or other arrangements are not made by seven weeks of age, or a puppy is not picked up at his/her scheduled time to leave, a boarding and maintenance fee of $35.00 per day will be added to the sale price and must be paid before the puppy leaves to his/her new home.
HEALTH:  All puppies are guaranteed against life threatening hereditary or life threatening genetic defects until one year of age.  If a puppy/dog develops a life threatening hereditary or life threatening genetic defect prior to age one, and it is documented by a licensed veterinarian and confirmed by one of our veterinarians or veterinarian of our choice, we will replace that puppy/dog with another puppy of equal value.  No refunds will be given.  The effected puppy/dog must be returned with all American Kennel Club registration and documentation to Cornerstone Labradors at buyer’s expense.  We will not supply a replacement puppy in the event of any problem that is not related to a life-threatening congenital defect, nor for a puppy’s illness is caused by accident, neglect, or abuse.  In the event of the puppy’s death, an official autopsy must be performed to determine the cause of death.  Such an autopsy must be performed by an accredited institution set up for such procedures, with all expenses to be paid by the buyer.  The autopsy must accompany any request for replacement.  This guarantee is void if the buyer fails to maintain recommended vaccinations and/or regular examinations with a licensed veterinarian.  Proof of this maintenance must be furnished upon request of the breeder.
Puppies may be severely stressed by the change in their environment.  Minor problems such as diarrhea, Coccidia may occur and must be treated. These conditions are the responsibility of you, the buyer, and if your puppy shows any signs of these conditions we strongly encourage you to have your puppy checked by a veterinarian.
LEGAL FILINGS:  Any legal filings by the buyer must be filed in the Nez Perce County, Idaho responsible for all legal expenses incurred by Cornerstone Labradors in any case filed by the buyer that is ruled in the favor of Cornerstone Labradors.
This guarantee applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferrable to a second party.  By purchasing a puppy from Cornerstone Labradors in Washington you acknowledge that you understand and agree to all terms and conditions of our guarantees (males 18 months).
SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT:  We do not sell breeding rights for any of our puppies.  All purchased puppies are required to be spayed/neutered within one year of purchase.  All pups will be registered on a non-breeding status.  A $6000 judgment will be brought against anyone that breeds a Cornerstone Labrador without written permission and non-breeding status lifted from registration records.  Please refer to the Non-Breeding Status Contract for further obligations.
REGISTRATION:  ALL AKC registration documents will be completed by the buyer; application provided by the seller.
SHIPPING:  Puppies are shipped at eight weeks of age as a courtesy to our clients unless other arrangements have been made.  They will have had all veterinarians recommended vaccines and worming and certification. At the time of placement in its new home, the puppy will be weaned from its’ dam and eating dry puppy formula.  All adult dogs are fed dry adult formula.
We do guarantee the health of your puppy for 72 hours after purchase and shipment, and a veterinarian should see the puppy within the 72 hours after shipment.  If the puppy dies or becomes sick from an illness within the 72-hour guarantee time, Cornerstone Labradors will replace the puppy or adult only after an examination has been completed by a second, unassociated veterinarian. All AKC papers must be returned with the puppy or dog.  Any claims as a result of this guarantee must be made within the 72-hour time period, accompanied by a veterinary statement.  This guarantee does not cover well puppy visits, regular vaccines, de-worming, or any other veterinary care or medication. It is understood that the replacement puppy may not be from the exact same parents as the original puppy.  No refund, in part or in full, will be given.  All shipping costs to return the puppy to us and to replace the puppy are the responsibility of the buyer.
This guarantee does not cover Coccidia and Kennel Cough, which are common in puppies that are shipped and is usually caused by bacteria.  Kennel Cough is self-limiting and, like the common cold, must run its course.  Full recovery is expected and Kennel Cough, on its own, is not life threatening.  There are certain disorders that may be caused by environmental factors, such as but not limited to: allergies, thyroid dysfunction, demodectic mange, cancer, tumors, growths, scabies, mite related illness, viral infections and other autoimmune disorders which are not covered by this guarantee.  All of our puppies are current on their vaccinations and worming prior to shipping.  A health record signed by a licensed veterinarian is provided on each puppy we ship with all information of vaccinations and worming.
SHIPPING/TRANSPORTATION CHARGES:  We ship nationwide out of Seattle and Everett, WA with Alaska Airlines.  All shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, along with any costs for special health requirements.  The cost of a standard Veterinary Certificate of Inspection is included in your shipping charges and is required by the airline for every animal shipped.... NO EXCEPTIONS.  Please note – the airports are a round trip drive of 160 miles for us and we include fuel costs in the shipping charges to help cover our mileage.  Again, we ship as a courtesy.  Airline approved shipping crates are also included in the shipping charge.  Shipping charges (including airfare) are typically $400.00 for puppies.  Any puppy being shipped by Cornerstone Labradors will  have been checked by our veterinarian and issued a health certificate before shipping.  We take every precaution to insure the safety of all of our animals, but because we have no control over the animal once it leaves our home, Cornerstone Labradors accepts no responsibility for death or illness of animals which may be brought on by/or as a direct result of shipping or exposure to other animals and environments.
If you have questions regarding any of these terms and/or conditions please contact us before you purchase a puppy or adult dog from Cornerstone Labradors.  If said contract is not signed and returned to Cornerstone Labradors when final purchase is made consider all guarantees null and void.
I, as the seller of Cornerstone Labradors, have the right to refuse anyone the sale of one of my puppies if I deem them unfit as a Cornerstone Labrador dog owner.
I, as the buyer(s), have read and agree to the terms and conditions of this agreement.
